May 21, 2021 Road Closure Update

Never in our past have we had so many building and infrastructure projects going on in our community at the same time.  We appreciate your patience as we work towards the completion of our new Town Center and as our partners, SEC and Atlanta Gas complete the replacement of old gas lines originally installed in the late ’60s. The recent road closure across from our Town Center construction site is due to the needed replacement of gas and water lines, stormwater infrastructure, and sewer lines that cross Lula Lake Road. We anticipate reopening Lula Lake Road next week in advance of Memorial Day.  Tennessee American Water will be on the Mountain today Friday, May 21st through the weekend.  Their plan, contingent on success excavating the roadbed, will allow them to move our water main and have the road reopened possibly as early as Tuesday. Over the course of the next month, we will have additional closures of Lula Lake Road as we seek to bury gas and sewer lines. This project will be managed with our service partners to limit the impact on residents, guests, and business partners. If their weekend excavation is successful, we will be communicating with residents on Pied Piper and Lula Lake Road between Oberon and Hardy that they will experience temporary disruption of water service on Monday, May 24th.  Water service will be turned off at approximately 9:00 AM and could be interrupted for up to 8 hours. It is our expectation once the water main is replaced on Monday; we will be able to backfill and reopen Lula Lake Road on Tuesday.  We will do everything possible to limit the length of road closures as we enter the summer holiday season.

Your patience has been appreciated.  Updates will be pushed out by e-mail and will be on our website.

Thanks.
