Golf Carts
Golf cart registration is required to legally operate a golf cart within the city limits. In reference to O.C.G.A. section 40-6-360, a low-speed vehicle may be operated only on streets where posted speed limit is thirty-five miles per hour (35 mph) or less. This does not prohibit a low-speed vehicle from crossing a road or street at an intersection where the road or street has a posted speed limit of more than thirty-five miles per hour (35 mph) Gasoline-powered motorized carts are strictly prohibited.
Golf Cart Registration forms must be completed and an inspection of the golf cart must be performed by an officer. This can be scheduled by calling our PD at 706-820-1051. One of our officers will be more than happy to come to your home or you may bring it up to city hall. The cost of registration is $20 and must be renewed annually by July 31st. Please review City Ordinances 252 and 340 for rules and regulations regarding the operation of golf carts inside City limits.
City Decals
City Decals are required on all vehicles as a “Neighborhood Watch” effort for the patrolling officers. They are renewed annually in May and are available at City Hall Monday thru Friday 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m., or after hours in the Police Department. Decals must be purchased at City Hall, and cash, checks or credit cards are accepted forms of payment. See the "Forms and Resources" page for a printable copy.
