From the Mayor's Office

Dear Residents,

I am excited to share good news to our residents about our city, school, garden, and parks.

We look forward to setting a date for a Grand Opening event to recognize the fifteen-year path to completion of Our Mountain Hall.  Fire/Police and Administration are now officially doing business in our new facility. Please come by and visit.

This may be old news, but it is good to be reminded of our success. Fairyland Elementary School received several Best-in-Class recognitions in 2021:

#1 Best Public Elementary School in Chattanooga Area according to Niche Best Schools, and

#1 in Walker County, Georgia, and 13th in all Georgia Elementary Schools according to 2021 USNews ranking.

Spring is right around the corner, and we will soon be able to enjoy the first full season at our Fairy Trail Garden.  Please plan to visit our native garden this spring and enjoy walking the trail connecting Fairyland Elementary School and the Fairy Trail Garden. You may even want to linger longer.

In the near future, the Sims property on McFarland Road will be purchased by the Lookout Mountain Conservancy. The LMC intends on creating a new park on this property which will be a great addition to our community.

Lastly, architects have already started preparing designs for the Mountain Center Retail space in front of the Mountain Hall and we hope that construction will begin this fall.

I hope you are as excited as I am about what 2022 will bring.
