Comprehensive Plan Process

The first phase of the Comprehensive Plan process was on July 14th and 15th.

A large crowd of about 200 people attended  a public kick off meeting at the Fairyland Club conducted by Phil Walker of the Walker Collaborative.  In addition to presenting how the process works, there was a healthy question and comment time.

We also received over 100 vision survey questionnaires back.  As noted elsewhere on the websight, this survey is still available on the web sight and we urge you to submit your thoughts. This is very valuable input.

We have received close to 200 responses so far.

Next steps:

We will be receiving the goals and objectives of the Comprehensive Plan from the consultants in the near future.  Based on your feed back, these will be reviewed by the steering committee and the City Council and our comments given back to the consultants.

They will return in late Aug. from the 25th to the 27th.

Mark your calendars now for those dates!

If you would like to participate in the Charrettes ( group brainstorming sessions) please let us know by e-mailing:

sandygothard@lookoutmtnga.com

or mayor@lookoutmtnga.com

Space is limited in these sessions and we will build as broad a cross section of the community as possible from people who are interested.

On the 27th is another public meeting to see the draft proposal and give your feedback.

This is a very important meeting and we urge a maximum turnout for it.

Details of the time and place will advertised well in advance but it will be the evening of the 27th.
