Minutes of the
SPECIAL MEETING
of the
CITY COUNCIL OF LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, GEORGIA
 
January 6, 2011
8:00 a.m.
 
 
PRESIDING: Bill Glascock, Mayor
 
PRESENT: Vice Mayor Sandy Gothard, Council Members David Bennett, Catherine Kelley, City Attorney William Pickering, and City Clerk Cindy Roberts.  
 
ABSENT: David Fussell, Blair Ramey
 
CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Glascock called the meeting of the City Council to order at 8:00 a.m. at City Hall, 1214 Lula Lake Road, Lookout Mountain, Georgia. Mayor Glascock opened the meeting with a prayer.
 
TRUCK: Mayor Glascock stated that he would like to donate his blue truck, a Ford F-250, to the City. The City would need to spend approximately $1,200.00 in repairs for the truck. The truck would be used to assist motorists during bad weather and to haul bioxide. Councilman Bennett made a motion to accept the donation of the truck from the Mayor and to make the necessary repairs at a cost of approximately $1,200.00. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Kelley and passed unanimously.
 
TOWN CENTER: Mayor Glascock stated that the Town Center project was moving forward. The Mayor noted that the consensus was that a new public works building was needed, would be an asset to the City, and was the first issue to be addressed. Councilmen Sandy Gothard and David Bennett are overseeing the project and submitted a Development Plan for the public works building to the Council. A copy of the Development Plan is attached to these minutes. Councilman Gothard made a motion to approve the attached Development Plan through Stage Two at a cost of up to $15,000.00. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Kelley and passed unanimously.
 
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 a.m.
